Kijani has provided specialist air quality consultancy since 2004.
We have worked on a wide range of air quality projects throughout South Africa, including:
- air quality specialist studies for environmental impact assessments,
- air emissions license applications
- climate change impact studies
- corporate sustainability reports
- governmental State of the Environment reports
- annual carbon reporting
The lead consultant at Kijani is Simon Gear. He also frequently forms partnerships with other air quality consultants in order to take advantage of their specialist skills. Apart from a wide range of air quality and climate change related projects, Simon was the project manager for the EIA for the Petronet pipeline between Durban and Gauteng, at the time, South Africa’s largest EIA.
Emission modelling is undertaken using Cambridge Environmental Research Consultants (CERC)’s latest generation model, the Atmospheric Dispersion Modelling System (ADMS 5.1). Other modelling options include the US EPA’s AERMOD.
In addition to modelling and impact assessments, Kijani also provides dust monitoring services.
